We are both big fans of the Bauhaus art movement; John studied art with three professors at the Cleveland Insitute who had studied with Josef Albers at Yale. I have always admired the works of Josef Albers, Paul Klee and Piet Mondrian, as well as Herbert Bayer and Wassily Kandinsky.

Most important- we both agree that form should follow function. Our studios are also located in our little blue house on a hill. So we decided to name our little house "das Blau Haus" which translates in German to the Blue House- but is also close enough to Bauhaus just for fun.
